Music Shrine + CD Collection

Hello, welcome to where i talk about my bad music taste. This isn't actually a showcase of the cds that I own, it's really just my favorite albums with a cd case png thats pasted over it since I don't really own that many cds. I might rotate some other albums from time to time, so think of it like a music spotlight page. If you're interested: heres my music playlist
I’ve been listening to this album for as long as I could remember! lol. I believed this album was meant to be for a musical play for their record or it was just musical inspired? Nevertheless, it does have some rock-opera tones and I really like the raunchy, provocative, pretentious lyrics/storytelling of this album!

Here's another Modest Mouse album, because why not!!!! I love Modest Mouse so much.... I used to obsessively listen to this album on the bus ride to school every single day during sophomore year of high school. I was very depressed at that time and listening to this album on the bus was the only reason why I got out of bed for school. I know it has “Antarctica” in the album’s name, but some of the songs strangely fit when you're in a rural Arizona desert setting lol.

The Moon & Antarctica

Genre: Indie, alt. rock
Favorite song: Life Like Weeds
Do I own this?: Yes
This album is what started me to drive more into emo. I knew about them before when I was a kid because of the Two Tongues duo album with Say Anything, but never started to listen to them until years later. I like the whole “vibes” of this album, it weirdly reminds me of a Christmas party I went to as a kid at my mom’s boss's house that was very cozy and had that 2000’s New Jersey suburban house aesthetic.

Through Being Cool

Saves the day

1999

Genre: Emo, pop punk

(Will write info later) There is also a Pitchfork documentary on this album!

Lonesome Crowded West

Ahh yes... I remember my sibling getting this when it first came out and popping this bad boy into the cd player and then playing Viva Pinata Trouble in Paradise (the best game ever) on the xbox. I still listen to this album frequently. It's the album that got me starting to imagine scenarios of my warrior cats ocs in my little kid head lol.

"Real Emo" only consists of the dc Emotional Hardcore scene and the late 90's Screamo scene. What is known by "Midwest Emo" is nothing but Alternative Rock with questionable real emo influence. When people try to argue that bands like My Chemical Romance are not real emo, while saying that Sunny Day Real Estate is, I can't help not to cringe because they are just as fake emo as My Chemical Romance (plus the pretentiousness). Real emo sounds ENERGETIC, POWERFUL and somewhat HATEFUL. Fake emo is weak, self pity and a failed attempt to direct energy and emotion into music. Some examples of REAL EMO are Pg 99, Rites of Spring, Cap n Jazz (the only real emo band from the midwest scene) and Loma Prieta. Some examples of FAKE EMO are American Football, My Chemical Romance and Mineral EMO BELONGS TO HARDCORE NOT TO INDIE, POP PUNK, ALT ROCK OR ANY OTHER MAINSTREAM GENRE

The Power of Failing

Mineral
